(j) In Guild Wars, characters have the privilege of sending server wide messages called 'Chat Messages.' With this privilege comes a high level of responsibility on the part of the user. Due to the fact that this communication channel has the ability to impact every player on the server, NC Interactive will not tolerate any inappropriate behavior of any sort in this chat channel. This includes but is not limited to: inappropriate language of any sort or any attempt to escape the profanity filter, inappropriate or vulgar content of any sort, repeated 'spamming,' or 'flooding' of the chat messages channel, or any other conduct determined to be inappropriate by NC Interactive Support, in its sole discretion. Any violation of this term or rules of conduct may, in the sole discretion of NC Interactive, lead to the temporary removal of the character’s ability to communicate, the account being suspended for a set period of time, or lead to permanent account closure.

Does this mean that if someone says the F word publicly, and whether the filter catches it or not, I can send in a SS and get their account suspended?
If so, hooray for Anet.

If someone swears, and you send in a screenshot, Anet is at their discretion to ban.

Chances are, they won't.

I dont' mean to send in a SS for every one who curses, lol, i'd never be done. I was just wondering. So technechly if you curse, you will get banned, but they don't inforce it.

I think the phrase "Any violation of this term or rules of conduct may, in the sole discretion of NC Interactive....." in the last sentence means maybe the will, and maybe they won't.

Willow & Dax got it right. It means "if we don't like what you do, we may do something about it".

If you report for that then that'd be incredibly lame.

The only reason why you should invoke this almighty power of the ss+report is if they are doing multiple breaches of this rule. Ungodly amounts of all-chat cussing and spamming would be enough to ss+report them. This is all circumstantial anyway.

There is already a profanity filter that is on by default.

Just make the game a mature rating and add naked breasts so kids aren't allowed to buy the game because of nudity. There you go now, we can swear and cuss all we want and no one gets banned since we'd all be over 18 or 21 or whatever and really at that age who cares about profanity. EULA for such things is outright retarded and even worse are people who turn off the filter then bitch about this kind of stuff. Get a life people, not because I say **** in arena that your ''GW gaming'' experience is now trash.

Yep, nakedness and nipple piercing armor with 80AL in a mature rated version of the game would rock, especially with the jiggle effects Leggings would be replaced by belly button piercings.

It wouldn't be fair if I couldn't curse. I like to role-play and the personality of my toon causes him to swear like a sailor. I mean, he just doesn't give an F about what anybody thinks. And he hates EULAs too.

If I say the F word normally, not trying to bypass any filters, how am I in the wrong? I know it says innapropriate behavior, but that should be for things the filter cannot catch. If someone has their filters up, they won't see my the words.
